The Godfather Agrees With Fan Criticism Of The Undertaker’s Final Farewell

This past Sunday’s Survivor Series saw the final appearance of The Undertaker in character, and to mark the occasion, the WWE concluded the show with a tribute to him. This included the introduction of numerous wrestlers from his past that he considers good friends, such as Mick Foley, The Godfather, the Godwinns, Savio Vega, Rikishi, Booker T, and Kane. Although before The Undertaker was introduced, all the men cleared the ring and non interacted with him. It felt like a wasted opportunity, and many fans criticized this online.

Following the event, The Godfather shared a photo of himself hugging The Undertaker on Instagram, and fans jumped on this as an opportunity to vent in the comments.

One fan said the farewell was boring and questioned what the point of everyone coming to the ring was. Godfather would reply simply with: “right.” Another fan would agree with this and said he wanted more from the legends, which Godfather responded with: “could’ve been written better.” Another added that the send of was embarrassing for someone the caliber of Taker, and it would have been more entertaining seeing The Undertaker and his friends hang out at the bar together, which promoted Godfather to reply: “Well said. And you right the night before was epic.

It’s understood that Vince McMahon planned the segment, so the blame falls directly on him. While the production was top-notch, especially with the Paul Bearer hologram they used, the lack of fans did take a lot away from what should have been a momentous occasion. Hopefully, when the world can return to normal, The Undertaker can get his Hall of Fame induction in front of a live audience, so fake chants aren’t required.
