Tammy Sytch Has Been Sentenced For DUI Manslaughter

Tammy Lynn Sytch, better known to WWE fans as Sunny, was one of the biggest wrestling stars of the ’90s. However, her life has since become a cautionary tale due to her frequent legal troubles, which have seen her incarcerated on multiple occasions. And now, having previously pleaded no contest regarding the DUI manslaughter death of 75-year-old Julian Lasseter in March 2022, she has been sentenced to 17 years in prison with 8 years probation, 50 hours community service, a $10,000 fine, and her driver’s license permanently revoked. She has 30 days to appeal this sentence.

50-year-old Sytch broke into the business thanks to her then-boyfriend Chris Candido in 1992, and her big break followed in 1994 when she joined WWE and was renamed Sunny. Yet, despite being a featured performer, she was fired by the company in 1998 due to no-showing events and a rumored drug problem. Nevertheless, she joined ECW in the days following her release before moving to WCW for a brief and forgettable run, which also ended badly. Still, she eventually restored her reputation in subsequent years and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011 before her life again spiraled out of control.
