Dave Meltzer returns to talk about the legacy and career of the late Ole Anderson, who passed away at home last week at the age of 81. Dave and Chris talk about how Ole became an “Anderson” and started teaming with Gene Anderson as “The Minnesota Wrecking Crew” in 1968. They talk about Ole’s legendary feud with the great Dusty Rhodes and how he later ended up in the Four Horsemen with Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Ric Flair. They also discuss his career as booker and eventual owner of Georgia Championship Wrestling, including the debacle of the Black Scorpion & Sting angle, the secret (and hostile) takeover and purchase of the promotion by Vince McMahon and The Briscoes, and how Ole didn’t see the talent in Ricky Steamboat, Randy Savage or Hulk Hogan! They cover his time in WCW, and his difficult relationships with Eric Bischoff, Jim Barnett, Bobby Heenan, and Vince McMahon.
