The biggest hunt in some 50 years for Nessie, the infamous Loch Ness Monster, took place last month in the Scottish Highlands! Paul Nixon, the General Manager of the Loch Ness Center, explains what inspired the hunt, who joined, and what they ultimately discovered. He runs down the various sightings of Nessie over the years, the Surgeon picture hoax, and the theories about what Nessie may be (from a giant eel to a plesiosaurus to a sturgeon and an elephant). He also discusses the lake itself and how its unique characteristics contribute to the Nessie mythology, and he addresses the rumors about the underwater tunnels that possibly connect Loch Ness to other bodies of water, including the ocean.
