Sting Was Injured During Dynamite Ladder Dive

Sting Was Injured During Dynamite Ladder Dive

Since debuting for AEW Sting has rolled back the years and competed with men half his age. However, despite still wowing fans with his in-ring performance, last night’s match with Darby Allin vs. Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara didn’t totally go to plan. As Sting would come up short on a dive which saw him hit his mouth, leaving him bloody. Thankfully though he was able to finish the contest, and afterward would tell fans in attendance he expected he would need stitches and one of his teeth was now loose.

Sting made his AEW debut in December 2020, a whole 19 years after he previously had wrestled on TNT when with WCW, and most fans thought he would simply be a nostalgic onscreen character. This is because it was believed he’d retired following injuries sustained during a match in WWE against Seth Rollins. Since then, though, he has competed over a dozen times alongside Darby Allin after a cinematic match went so well. And while his matches are now typically part of the mid-card, it’s hard to imagine that Sting won’t get one last hurrah in the main event of a pay-per-view when the time comes.
