Spoiler On Who Will Be Added To Survivor Series WarGames Match

From 2017 to 2021, WWE used WarGames as part of NXT, and last year, the match type was called up to the main roster and featured at Survivor Series for both men’s and women’s matches. Following this week’s episode of Raw, it has been confirmed the famous gimmick cage match will be returning this year with Judgment Day and their associate, JD McDonagh vs. Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso as the participants.

However, with the match set to be 5 vs. 5, more wrestlers are set to be added to the match, and following a report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Drew McIntyre will likely be joining Judgment Day’s side, Fightful Select has revealed Randy Orton is planned to join the babyfaces. This will be Orton’s return to the ring after he underwent lower back fusion surgery a year ago.

“The plan since this summer for the babyface side was a returning Randy Orton, with the reveal tentatively planned before the day of the show as to avoid any CM Punk speculation.”

The concept of WarGames was created by Dusty Rhodes in 1987 and was initially used by the NWA and WCW to prominently feature the promotion’s top stars at the time. And while the match type disappeared once WWE purchased WCW’s assets in 2001, other companies, including MLW, TNA, and ROH, kept it alive with their variations. Still, the most well-known alternative has come via AEW in the form of Blood and Guts, which has occurred three times so far.
