Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg has had a working relationship with WWE long before his cousin Sasha Banks was with the company. He has appeared on a couple of Raw and WrestleMania’s and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame celebrity wing in 2016. Nevertheless, he upset Vince McMahon’s company when he appeared for AEW back in January.
He was on Dynamite to promote the Go-Big Show that he and Cody Rhodes appeared as judges on, and in addition to a backstage segment, he’d climb the ropes and hit Serpentico with what was described on commentary as a “Snoop Splash.” The actual move wasn’t performed well, but Snoop was having fun and seeing as he wasn’t trained, safety was the top priory.
Now, during an interview with Hot 97, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that WWE told had told him due to getting involved with AEW, they needed to cease working with him for a bit due. However, just two weeks later, they came back to him requesting him to be in their upcoming video game, and Snoop boasts he got them to pay double.
WWE pays big money to talents appearing in their games, so Snoop getting double is likely a significant amount. While the rapper is a big star, it isn’t like the game’s success depends on him being included, so it’s possible with AEW working on their own game, they didn’t want to risk him appearing in a competitor’s game.
