“The Osbournes” returned recently with a new podcast, and the family has talked about plenty through their first four episodes. Perhaps most interesting, however, was that Sharon Osbourne revealed that there are plans to open a museum of Ozzy memorabilia in his former hometown of Birmingham, England.
Black Sabbath was previously the focus of a 3-month exhibition at the Birmingham Music & Art Gallery, and an Ozzy museum appears to follow in that spirit.
“I’ve been busy trying to get together daddy’s memorabilia for the memorabilia place that we’re opening in Birmingham,” Sharon told her kids Jack and Kelly on the podcast.
“… He’s having all of his awards [in the museum], all his stage clothes, posters, old posters from (early incarnation of Black Sabbath) Earth days. I’ve got so much memorabilia.”
Sharon also said the museum will be interactive and also host music classes for children and aspiring musicians.
“We’re gonna do it totally interactive — every video, every live show of your dad’s, everything there,” she said. “It’s more of an educational thing for musicians and artists that wanna see that you can come from nothing, and if you work hard enough this is what you can get.”
“We’re going to have a café, and in there we’re going to have every instrument you can think of. Music students can come in and we’re gonna do music classes, because there’s no music at schools anymore. We’re gonna get friends, other musicians to come in.”
Ozzy intended to play at this weekend’s Power Trip festival in California, but the 74-year-old singer had to pull out of the show due to health setbacks.
On the latest episode of “The Osbournes” podcast, Ozzy said he’s going to try tai chi as a way to boost his health and improve his mobility.
