Last year Shane McMahon potentially joining AEW became a topic of conversation among wrestling fans after it was revealed Vince’s son had met with Tony Khan. And while nothing more would come of this, McMahon has now acknowledged the meeting while speaking to TMZ, revealing he wished WWE’s main rivals “continued success.“
“Had a meeting with AEW and wished them continued success, but it’s not WWE, it’s not the company that I helped build. But you never know what’s going to happen in this business.”Shane McMahon
Since suffering a torn quad at the beginning of an impromptu match with The Miz at WrestleMania 39, 55-year-old McMahon has been absent from the spotlight. Therefore, given this and the fact that his father was forced to resign from WWE in disgrace following Janel Grant’s shocking lawsuit allegations, the idea of Shane one day appearing for AEW does seem plausible, even if it is currently unlikely.
