Creed reunited after more than a decade and their highly-successful return has sparked conversation on the possibility of new music. Frontman Scott Stapp told Detroit’s WRIF radio station: “We’re talking about it. We’re taking things slow. We’re rebuilding, we’re relearning about each other. We’re reconnecting.”

He continued: “I think this experience has been kind of like a – it’s putting on an old glove, but we’ve all changed. We’re all older, we have kids, we have different responsibilities and priorities in life. And we’re all extremely focused.”

When the band does record new music, they will have a highly popular catalog to live up to, but Stapp says the band is up for the challenge. “I think that when that day comes when we decide to make a Creed record, I think it’ll be probably, if not on par, better than anything we’ve ever done,” Stapp said. “Just based upon the life experience that we have, everything we’ve done the last two years of playing together, I think that sets the stage that when it’s the right time, it’s gonna be incredible.”

Last year, guitarist Mark Tremonti told Eddie Trunk: “We know that the big driver for this tour was just the fact that we’ve been gone for so long. Everybody wants to come see it. But in the future, we’re gonna need to have, year after year if we’re doing this, people are gonna wanna hear new music and people have been asking about it. And I know most people would be happy just to hear the stuff that is already out there, but we’re active songwriters — I know I’m an active songwriter. I love creating. I’d be bored just doing the same thing. But at this point I’ve got, like I said, four different bands, so I’m pretty satisfied with where I’m at. But I also wanna put out new music. Right now as I’m writing, I’m writing an Alter Bridge record, and then every now and then I’ll hear a song that sounds like it could be a Creed song and I’ll set that aside. So it’s kind of see what happens.”
