RVD Doesn’t Like That Vince McMahon Is No Longer Running WWE & Doesn’t Feel Triple H Being In Charge Helps Him

Rob Van Dam was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021, and with the 51-year-old not being under contract to any other promotion, there is always the chance he could make a WWE return. However, it seems RVD isn’t holding out much hope for this, as in a recent interview on Rene Dupree’s podcast, he has revealed that he personally isn’t happy that Vince McMahon is no longer in charge. This is because he doesn’t think Triple H will have anything for him, although he wouldn’t go into the details why.

Do I like that Vince is no longer with WWE? No, I personally don’t think there’s anything in it for me because Vince was a friend, and there’s no reason for me to believe at this point that the current guy that’s running things has any more interest in me than Vince did. For those reasons, just from my selfish perspective, I think better for me when Vince was there.

When they’re in town, I don’t even know who to visit. If they were in Vegas, if I stopped by normally, it would have been to see Vince, maybe Booker, maybe Paul Heyman if they were there, maybe even Johnny Laurinaitis.

Between 2002 and 2003, Triple H and RVD shared a ring over 30 times, and more often than not, The Game would go over. Especially when they were airing on television, and RVD has gone on record to say this disproportionate booking bothered him. Some critics during this time period would suggest Triple H used the fact he was in a relationship with Stephanie McMahon to ensure he went over wrestlers that could have challenged him for his spot. But, of course, without being there, it’s impossible to know how accurate this is, and ultimately Vince McMahon would have always had the final say.
