This morning former WWE Raw Women’s Champion and UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion shared the exciting news that she is four months pregnant. She announced this in a now-deleted YouTube video, saying she could no longer hide the baby bump and revealed the due is September 22nd, but the gender was bleeped.
This will be Rousey’s first child, although she is already a stepmother to her husband Travis Browne’s two sons from a previous marriage. It isn’t known why the YouTube video was deleted. Still, WWE followed up shortly afterward on social media, saying “The Baddest Baby on the Planet is on the way!”
The news came as a surprise to fans as WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan only recently stated that Rousey was set to return to the company at a “certain period of time.” It isn’t known if Khan was aware of Rousey’s pregnancy when he commented, but clearly, it will be a while before she steps back into a wrestling ring.
Rousey last competed for WWE in April 2019 at WrestleMania 35, afterward stating she was stepping away from wrestling to start a family. However, she would later say on the podcast of Jackass star Steve-O that she was unhappy with how many shows she had to attend. She’d also state she’d never wrestle a full-time schedule again and called WWE fans ungrateful, setting herself up to be a big-time heel if and when she returns.
