Roman Reigns recently broke 1000 days as Universal Champion, and while impressive, a big part of it comes down to how few and far between his title defenses are. And now, over two months on since he defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, his next title defense has been announced as being against Rey Mysterio on June 17th. This was announced on the website of the Heritage Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, which notes this will be Reigns’ first appearance at the venue in three years.
“UNDISPUTED WWE UNIVERSAL CHAMPION ROMAN REIGNS Returns to CINCINNATI for the First Time in over THREE YEARS to defend his title against REY MYSTERIO!!”
heritagebankcenter.comAs this is a house show, the chances of a title change are slim to none; however, strange things have happened in the world of pro wrestling. Nevertheless, fans in attendance will be in for a treat if the match lives up to Reigns and Mysterio’s Hell in a Cell match from 2021.
