RJ City Comments On His AEW Employment Status Following The End Of His YouTube Show

When it was announced, AEW’s popular YouTube series Hey! (EW), hosted by RJ City, was concluding its run with the December 7, 2025, episode, speculation commenced online that the semi-retired wrestler could be departing the company. However, it has since been reported that this isn’t the case and City remains a key part of AEW’s creative team.

And now, indicating he was fully aware of the rumors and that some actually hoped he was no longer with the company, City has taken to X to jokingly say, “The disappointment around my lack of unemployment has been comforting.

37-year-old City, real name Robert John Skinner, debuted in 2006 and competed on the independent circuit until 2022, notably wrestling against and alongside David Arquette. Since 2023, he has been part of AEW and is credited with helping develop the “Timeless” Toni Storm gimmick and storyline with Mariah May. Additionally, he has become a familiar face to AEW fans through his co-hosting of AEW’s Zero Hour pay-per-view pre-shows with Renee Paquette.
