To build up Gunther as John Cena’s final opponent, WWE had the Austrian defeat Je’Von Evans, Carmelo Hayes, Solo Sikoa, and LA Knight in the “Last Time is Now” tournament. However, it appears not everyone was happy with the choice of wrestlers he defeated, as WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has expressed frustration on his podcast about his son, Solo Sikoa, being used in this way, asking, “Was there not anybody else?“
32-year-old Sikoa, real name Joseph Yokozuna Fatu, debuted in the wrestling business in 2018 on the independent circuit after college football. Subsequently, he signed with WWE in 2021 and joined its NXT brand, briefly holding the North American Championship. His main roster debut came in 2022, when he joined The Bloodline as an enforcer under Roman Reigns, eventually becoming the faction leader in 2024 and winning the United States Championship in 2025.
