AEW star Ricochet sparked major controversy earlier this week after replying to a fan with multiple sclerosis who was criticising his acting by tweeting, “I’m glad you got MS.” This subsequently drew widespread outrage from the wrestling community for the insensitive remark, and while receiving heavy criticism, Ricochet initially defended his actions before issuing an apology. Still, despite owning his mistake, according to F4Wonline.com’s Bryan Alvarez, he could still be in trouble with AEW management, who stated on their message board he’ll be “hoping he’s still employed by the end of the week.”

37-year-old Ricochet, real name Trevor Mann, joined AEW in August 2024, debuting at All In London in the Casino Gauntlet. From there, he quickly rose, thanks to his new heel winning the inaugural AEW National Championship at Full Gear 2025, holding it for 113 days. In the past, social media controversies have derailed promising careers in AEW, with Jay Briscoe and Trey Miguel the two most high-profile examples. However, neither had the same name recognition as Ricochet.
