On Wednesday, AEW National Champion Ricochet took to X to share how aggrieved he was during his time with WWE, revealing he wanted to return to the indies, but they wouldn’t release him. This would prompt many fans to acknowledge WWE’s misuse of him during his time in the company and to express their support.
However, not everyone was supportive, with former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas claiming the AEW star “re-signed in 2022,” implying he wasn’t really that miserable. And, now Ricochet has responded with an expletive-filled tweet, not only correcting Korderas over his contract situation, but also disparaging him in the process.
63-year-old Korderas, real name Demetrius Korderas, began refereeing at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1985 and joined WWE two years later, working for the company for 22 years until 2009. During this time, officiated on significant events, including multiple WrestleManias, and at times even got involved in angles, such as the WWE referee strike in 1999. Nowadays, he is known to fans for his book “The Three Count: My Life in Stripes as a WWE Referee,” as well as his television, radio, and social media analyst work, where he typically doesn’t pull punches.
