Retro wrestling figures are big business nowadays, with multiple toy manufacturers working with talents to bring their likeness to life in various old-school styles. Among the most popular are currently Remco-style figures, which in the 80s saw the first ever Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels toys produced. So when PowerTown, a company that has Greg Gagne and Magnum T.A. as part of its management team, announced they were bringing the brand back, collectors were delighted that names such as Tito Santana and Rock ‘n’ Roll Express would be available to purchase.
However, with pre-orders, which were promised for April 2025, still not having shipped, and the website being out of date, fans have been questioning the wrestlers themselves, asking if they have an update. This has therefore seen Ricky Morton of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express address this disappointing situation on X, saying he is “pretty p*ssed off,” while disclosing he hasn’t been paid.
While it isn’t uncommon for an independent toy manufacturer to miss dates due to things outside of their control, the fact that PowerTown hasn’t publicly commented on the delays is what is really worrying collectors. And while it’s still possible the figures will be delivered, it seems doubtful anyone will trust them with pre-orders going forward, putting the long-term future of the company in doubt.
