Ric Flair In Talks For Match Against Fellow NWA Legend

Ric Flair, the legendary 16-time world champion who previously declared his in-ring career over, has hinted at a potential return during a virtual autograph signing with K & S WrestleFest. Responding to a fan about wrestling Ricky Morton, Flair said it’s being discussed but noted it’s currently “way off on financial terms.” Still, he admits he needs motivation to go to the gym every day.

Yeah. Not that far from, way off on financial terms, of course. Sometimes I need something to motivate me, man. Just to go to the gym every day for nothing.” – Ric Flair

76-year-old Flair has retired twice before, with his most celebrated retirement occurring at WrestleMania 24 in 2008, where he lost a career-threatening match to Shawn Michaels. The emotional farewell on Raw the next night is considered one of wrestling’s greatest moments. However, financial needs led Flair back to the ring, wrestling Hulk Hogan in Australia in 2009 and in TNA from 2010. Then, in 2022, billed as Flair’s Last Match, he teamed with Andrade against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett, though the match is not fondly remembered because Flair passed out. Initially, it was believed this was due to dehydration, but Flair later claimed he actually suffered a heart attack.
