During this week’s episode of SmckDown, Santos Escobar turned heel by attacking Rey Mysterio, leaving his former LWO stablemate down after drop-kicking the ring steps into his leg. At the time, most fans thought this was simply done to continue the storyline; however, it now turns out it was done to write Mysterio off television. This was revealed today by the WWE Hall of Famer himself, who confirmed on Instagram he had undergone yet another knee surgery.
Rey Mysterio has been dealing with knee injuries throughout his career, and the belief is that this is Mysterio’s 13th knee surgery. How long he will be out is unknown, as he didn’t provide any specific information. Still, hopefully, it will be a short time, as SmackDown will be worse off for not having the legendary luchador available.
