Retired Wrestler Teases Return To The Ring Following Backstage AEW Visit

On Saturday night, AEW held a taping for both Collision and Ring of Honor in San Antonio, Texas, and subsequently, Gabbi Tuft revealed on Instagram that she was backstage. As the former WWE wrestler currently lives in a suburb of Austin, Texas, her paying a visit to AEW when they’re nearby isn’t that shocking; however, the fact she wrote “Getting closer…” has some fans speculating she could be looking at returning to the ring for Tony Khan’s promotion.

Recently, 45-year-old Tuft, who transitioned from a man to a woman in 2021, shared in an interview that she has recently trained with AEW veteran performer Dustin Rhodes and hopes to make a return to the ring. At the time of the interview, the stumbling block was that she was awaiting assurance from her doctor that it was safe to wrestle again after having open heart surgery in 2019 following an aortic aneurysm. And while she has yet to disclose her doctor’s feedback, based on this social media tease, it does look promising.
