It’s been an interesting year for Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters. Fans of the band were shocked to learn that Grohl had fathered a daughter outside of his longtime marriage to Jordyn Blum. The band pulled out of its final show appearance at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut with only three days notice, and The Sun previously reported that the band is on an indefinite hiatus while Grohl tries to get his personal life in order.
Hellfest founder Ben Barbaud has now revealed that Foo Fighters not only canceled an appearance at his festival but an entire 2025 summer tour. Muse took their place at Hellfest.
“They were offered to me on a platter,” Barbaud said about booking Muse. “A month ago, I was offered to program them with a handful of other European festivals. Foo Fighters having cancelled their summer tour, Muse was called in as reinforcements. I accepted because I was missing a headliner on Friday and because the Hellfest audience is more and more open. With age, I too have matured, I am less sectarian.”
Grohl’s admission to fathering a child outside of his marriage came via social media. “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved as we move forward together.”
