Rock fans were surprised earlier this month when Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl confessed that he had fathered a daughter outside of his longtime marriage. Grohl has been married to Jordyn Blum since 2003, and the couple has three daughters together.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl admitted in a social media post. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved as we move forward together.”
Last week, the band pulled out of the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut with only three days notice, and now The Sun is reporting that the band is taking an indefinite hiatus. “The band need time to be with their families and focus on regrouping,” a source said. “It’s been a turbulent few years, with the loss of their best friend, drummer Taylor Hawkins, the death of Dave’s mum and now the birth of his new child. He wants to be at home and focus on earning back the trust of his family.”
A source told People Magazine earlier this month: “We keep reading over and over again how heartbroken everyone is because Dave was supposed to be the ‘good guy’, the rockstar that didn’t have to do those rockstar things. And people are crazy about the guy, but there is a rockstar side.”
