In unfortunate news, indie wrestling standout Warhorse, real name Jake Parnell, has revealed on X that he suffered a broken fibula during his latest match over the weekend. Despite the injury, he remains positive and even calls the bout “badass.” Currently, he is awaiting an orthopedic specialist to determine whether surgery is needed, which would likely sideline him for several months if required.
33-year-old Warhorse debuted in 2013 after training with Dynamo Pro Wrestling. Initially part of the Viking War Party as The Little Viking, he would go on to reinvent himself as the heavy-metal-inspired Warhorse in 2019, becoming known for face paint and headbanging. This led him to wrestling for AEW in 2020, memorably challenging Cody Rhodes for the TNT Title on Dynamite. And while he would return a handful of times in an enhancement role, a full-time spot still eludes him.
