Earlier this week, Linkin Park launched a countdown timer on their social media accounts that fans are speculating will end with an announcement of a new singer and tour. The countdown clock is set to end on Wednesday, Aug. 28, and The Welcome to Rockville X account also shared the clock leading some to believe the band could be appearing at the Florida-based festival next year.

Rumors have swirled as to who the band will name their new singer. Orgy frontman Jay Gordon hinted previously that the band would continue with a female lead singer, and some fans speculated it could be Amy Lee of Evanesence, though she later shot that down.

Fans are now pointing to another singer, Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley, as a strong possibility to replace the late Chester Bennington. Sum 41’s social media teased that a “Deryck Whibley announcement” was also coming on Wednesday.

It was previously announced that Sum 41’s current tour would be their last, and Whibley revealed the reason. “It was a tough decision because I love what I do and I’ve loved being in this band for almost 30 years,” Whibley told A Radio Rock. “But there comes a point in life where you start asking yourself, ‘Is this all I’m ever gonna do? Is there anything else?’ And I’ll never really know unless I try to go see what else is out there for me. So I knew I had to make this decision at this point, although it was tough.”
