Pioneering Former Long-Time WWE Employee Dies

In sad news, Kerwin Silfies, a pioneering WWE director, has passed away at the age of 75 after privately battling health issues. Joining the wrestling promotion in 1985, he directed innumerable programs for WWE, including WrestleMania’s and Saturday Night’s Main Events, making him a key part of WWE’s global expansion.

Yet despite his contributions to the company’s success, he was furloughed in 2020 and subsequently replaced by Marty Miller, who currently directs Raw. However, he would still appear in Peacock’s documentary on WWE’s WrestleMania IX, indicating there were no hard feelings. Additionally, it’s known that, as a rib, when WWE decided to repackage Chavo Guerrero in 2005 as Kerwin White, he was the inspiration for the name.
