Legendary singer Ozzy Osbourne has had numerous health issues in recent years. In 2020 he suffered a fall, had neck surgery and was hospitalized for the flu. He initially scrapped his 2019 schedule as he recovered from surgery to fix an injury he sustained while dealing with pneumonia. More recently, the Osbourne family dealt with bouts of C*VID, and Ozzy, who revealed two years ago that he was battling Parkinson’s disease, also applied for permission for a “rehabilitation” wing at his home in Buckinghamshire, England.
On Wednesday, his wife Sharon said during the TalkTV show that Ozzy is set to undergo a “major operation” which will “determine the rest of his life.” TalkTV co-host Vanessa Feltz asked Sharon if she was traveling back to Los Angeles and said “I’m sorry to hear that Ozzy has a big operation coming up as well.” Sharon confirmed the major operation and said, “I have to be there and it’s really going to determine the rest of his life. My son is also going to have a daughter in about three weeks, and also it’s our 40th wedding anniversary and July 1.” The co-hosts asked Sharon if she and Ozzy had anything planned to mark their anniversary to which Sharon replied: “I don’t know yet. [It] depends on everything with Ozzy.”
Earlier this year, Ozzy confirmed to Classic Rock that he was “waiting on some more surgery” for his neck and said: “I can’t walk properly these days. I have physical therapy every morning. I am somewhat better, but nowhere near as much as I want to be to go back on the road.” He added: “At f*cking 73, I’ve done pretty well. I don’t plan on going anywhere, but my time’s going to come.” The singer said he hopes to have a No. 1 album before he retires. “I’m coming back to England this year, too. I’ve had enough of living out here [America] now. My intention was never to stay out here.”
