Ozzy Osbourne hopes to return to the live stage at some point in 2024. The legendary rocker has had his share of health problems in recent years, and he told Rolling Stone that his last back surgery went “drastically wrong and virtually left me crippled.”

“It really knocked me about,” Ozzy said. “I thought I’d be up and running after the second and third (back surgery), but with the last one they put a f*cking rod in my spine. They found a tumour in one of the vertebrae, so they had to dig all that out too. It’s pretty rough, man, and my balance is all f*cked up.”

On the latest episode of The Osbournes podcast, Ozzy also responded to an internet hoax that lumped him in with celebrities who recently passed away.

“[They have YouTube clips saying] ‘People who have died today’. And they put it on that I died,” Ozzy said. “The thing on YouTube, it’s got ‘celebrities who have died today’, and there’s a picture of me. And I go, ‘I’m not dead. I’m not really dead. Just a little flesh wound.’ I’m not dead. I’m not going any-f*cking-where. And I’m gonna go up and do some more gigs before I’m finished anyway.”

Ozzy previously told Rolling Stone UK: “I’m not going to get up there and do a half-hearted Ozzy looking for sympathy. What’s the f*cking point in that? I’m not going up there in a f*cking wheelchair. I’ve seen Phil Collins perform recently, and he’s got virtually the same problems as me. He gets up there in a wheelchair. But I couldn’t do that.”
