It’s no secret that legendary metal frontman Ozzy Osbourne has had his share of health issues in recent years. Earlier this year, the Power Trip festival revealed a powerhouse lineup that includes AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Tool and Ozzy. The 3-day event is set for Oct. 6 to 8 in Indio, California.

Ozzy is set to open for AC/DC on the Saturday of the festival, and by the sounds of it, he’ll do the show no matter what shape he’s in.

Previously, Ozzy’s wife and manager, Sharon, provided an update on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”

“He’s good. He’s doing so much better. I think I told you about it the other night, but now it’s been announced; we can talk about it. He’s doing a show October 6th in America. It’s at the Coachella site. It’s gonna be a great show: Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, AC/DC, Ozzy…”

When Piers commented that “the rocker is still rocking,” Sharon replied: “He never stopped. He’s back.”

Ozzy himself also confirmed he has no plans to call it a career in a new interview with Metal Hammer that was conducted by Tenacious D’s Jack Black and Kyle Gass.

“I remember some good gigs and I’ve done my fair share of f*cking bad gigs,” the 74-year-old Osbourne said.

“A guitar player can change his guitar. A drummer can change the drum. If my voice goes, I’m f*cked. One time I was at a gig at Nassau Coliseum in New York. On the way to the gig, my voice went out. The kids were already there and I thought, ‘What the f*ck am I gonna do now?’ I went out and tried to sing and they gave me a standing ovation. The kids would rather see you being bad than go home.”

Ozzy said even though he had to cancel his scheduled 2023 European tour, he is determined to take the stage again.

“I mean, doing a live show is what I live for. I’ve had to cancel my European tour but I’m determined. I’ve gotta do more gigs if I have to get someone to wheel me out there.”

“I mean, you can’t retire from this game. It’s not a job, it’s a f*cking passion. I don’t know how to do anything else. The thought of sitting in my house all day… I’m a road dog, you know? I’ve been doing it f*cking 55 years. It’s the best thing to have ever happened to me.”

SiriusXM DJ Eddie Trunk weighed in on the news tweeting: “I really hope Ozzy does not tarnish his legacy and go out there and try and perform sitting in a chair.”
