Late last month, original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley canceled his show in Lancaster, California after suffering a fall at his studio. “Dear Rock Soldiers, Ace had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital,” a message read via his social media. “He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time. As a result, he is forced to cancel his performance at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, California on Friday, September 26th.
On Monday, Frehley canceled the rest of his tour dates for the year. “Due to some ongoing medical issues, Ace has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of his 2025 dates,” the 74-year-old guitarist shared via social media.
Frehley’s former band will return to the live stage sans makeup for their “KISS Landlocked In Vegas” event in November. KISS bassist Gene Simmons said both Frehley and original drummer Peter Criss are welcome to attend, but that fans shouldn’t get their hopes up for any kind of original lineup reunion. “I like the way you think, but it’s dreamland, my friend,” Simmons told the “Noise In The Attic” podcast. “That’s not how life works. You can lead a horse to water, but that’s all you can do. We invited — I personally invited Ace and Peter to jump up on stage with us at Madison Square Garden. ‘Hey, why don’t you invite him on the show?’ I did, but they said no. ‘I want this and I want that.’ ‘Well, you can’t have that, but join us to celebrate the beginning.’”
