Despite being 74 years old, original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley is out on the road pretty consistently. Frehley had a show booked for Friday in Lancaster, California, but unfortunately had to cancel after suffering a fall at his studio.
“Dear Rock Soldiers, Ace had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital,” a message read via his social media. “He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time. As a result, he is forced to cancel his performance at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, California on Friday, September 26th. Please go to the fair to support his friends in Quiet Riot and Vixen, and Ace looks forward to continuing on his tour and finishing work on his next album, ‘Origins Vol. 4’.”
KISS is gearing up for their 3-day “KISS Kruise Landlocked In Vegas” event in November, and bassist Gene Simmons was asked if Frehley and original drummer Peter Criss were welcome at the event. “Of course,” Simmons told the “Noize In The Attic” podcast.
When asked about the original lineup ever getting back together, however, Simmons replied: “I like the way you think, but it’s dreamland, my friend. That’s not how life works. You can lead a horse to water, but that’s all you can do. We invited — I personally invited Ace and Peter to jump up on stage with us at Madison Square Garden. ‘Hey, why don’t you invite him on the show?’ I did, but they said no. ‘I want this and I want that.’ ‘Well, you can’t have that, but join us to celebrate the beginning.’”
