Back in 2024, Spin Magazine reposted a TikTok video from a Nickelback fan who ran into an inebriated Chad Kroeger at an undisclosed casino. The fan films and ask Kroeger to sing for her “one more time.”
An annoyed Kroeger replied: “Would you shut the f*ck up?” The persistent fan posed the question again, and Kroeger asked her which song she wanted to hear. When she requested “Rockstar,” the singer obliged, singing the first few lines: “I’m through with standing in line to clubs I’ll never get in / It’s like the bottom of the ninth, and I’m never gonna win.” He then paused and reached for her phone, saying: “Would you f*ck off?”
Spin re-shared the video earlier this week, and it has quickly made the rounds again. Nickelback recently wrapped up a world tour last November and is likely taking some needed time off. In 2024, a Nickelback documentar,y “Hate To Love: Nickelback,” hit theaters and explored why the group has been dubbed “the most hated band in the world” despite their immense success.
Chris Jericho shared his opinion of Nickelback previously during an appearance on The Big Show with Rusic and Rose saying: “Super underrated. We toured with Nickelback, with Fozzy. I say tour, it was probably seven shows. Amazing band. It’s like going to a house party when you’re a kid and your friends have a band it’s fun. Name five Nickelback songs, I probably couldn’t, until I saw the setlist and I know every single one of these songs. Every one of them. You forget how many great songs they have.”
