During this week’s episode of Raw, which took place in Birmingham, England, Becky Lynch would try to get heat by mentioning recently deceased rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, saying, “The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago.” Subsequently, this would see Osbourne’s daughter, Kelly, take to Instagram to call Lynch a “disrespectful dirtbag,” making this a mainstream news story. And now, according to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, WWE wants to smooth things over with Kelly, and the company is even considering making a public apology.
Ozzy Osbourne is actually in the WWE Hall of Fame as part of their celebrity wing, due to having made multiple appearances for the company over the years. Arguably, the most memorable of these came at WrestleMania 2 in 1986, when he served as a guest manager for the British Bulldogs during their Tag Team Championship win over The Dream Team. Additionally, the Black Sabbath frontman’s music has become synonymous with WWE’s version of WarGames, with the song “War Pigs” having become the official song of shows featuring the match concept.
