AEW made its debut south of the border tonight with Grand Slam Mexico, which featured MJF vs. Místico in one of the show’s most highly anticipated matches. This would see heat-machine MJF fully embrace his heel persona by waving the American Flag, flipping off the crowd, and wearing patriotic red, white, and blue ring gear.
And now, indicating that at least one fan got worked, Fightful Select has reported that MJF was involved in an altercation after the show at his hotel. Thankfully, it appears nothing serious occurred, but it’s scary to think a fan in 2025 can be so taken in.
MJF’s pro wrestling journey began in 2015, and while he would attempt to accelerate his career through WWE’s Tough Enough, he was surprisingly not selected. Still, he wouldn’t be put off, and instead, he honed his skills on the indie circuit before joining MLW and then AEW. Subsequently, he would feud with wrestling icons like Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, and CM Punk, not only learning from the best but also solidifying his status as a true homegrown AEW main event star.
