On this week’s episode of Raw, which was taking place in Cleveland, CM Punk mentioned wrestling a 2005 dark match in the city, which afterward resulted in him being sent to OVW. During this promo, the former AEW star also said Mickie James accompanied him to the ring that night, which surprised many fans as she isn’t with the company anymore. And now, following her unexpected name drop, James has taken to social media platform X to acknowledge her mention by sharing a photo of them together.
Punk and James’ careers are interwoven, having both wrestled on the independents and then ROH, TNA, OVW, and WWE at the same time. James has previously stated that they grew up in the business together; however, despite online rumors they previously were romantically involved, that has never been substantiated. Although it is obvious they have a close bond and appreciate each other.
