Mick Foley Embraces AEW Fandom Following Dynamite Crowd’s Anti-ICE Chants

WWE legend Mick Foley recently announced he was cutting ties with WWE, leading some to suspect an AEW appearance could be in his future. And now the hardcore legend has shared an Instagram reel in which he says he’s “really enjoying AEW as of late,” accompanied by a video clip from Dynamite featuring loud anti-ICE chants ahead of MJF vs. Brodie King. However, online fan reactions to the post vary, underscoring not only the persistent WWE-AEW fan division but also differing political ideologies.

60-year-old Foley announced in December 2025 that he was parting ways with WWE, refusing future appearances as long as the current president remains in office. Citing WWE’s close relationship with Donald Trump and his comments following Rob Reiner’s death as the final straw, Foley stated he no longer wished to represent a company that “coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion.” And while many disagree with Foley’s decision, others greatly respect someone who stands by their beliefs, especially when it means walking away from significant money.
