In sad news, former WWE and TNA star Matt Morgan has taken to Twitter to ask for prayers ahead of back surgery. In his tweet, which can be read below, he discusses the pain he is dealing with following a basketball accident and his past opioid addiction, which is affecting the pain medication he can take now as he wants to maintain his sobriety.
Known as “The Blueprint,” Morgan had a noteworthy career in professional wrestling. Starting in WWE’s developmental system OVW following Tough Enough, he would debut on the main roster in 2003. However, it was in TNA where he truly shined. Morgan held the TNA Tag Team Championship twice, partnering with Hernandez and Crimson. He also had successful singles runs, feuding with top stars like Kurt Angle and Abyss. Nowadays, though, he works in politics as he currently holds the position of District 4 City Commissioner in Longwood, Florida, where he previously served as the city’s mayor from 2019 to 2020.
