On Saturday, Maria Kanellis took to social media platform X to criticize a recent promo she called “incredibly contrived” and remarked that “honesty gets washed off by money and politics,” which many took to be about her ex-boyfriend CM Punk’s recent Raw promo. However, despite not naming anyone, she would quickly delete this, but not before screenshots spread. And now, after being called out for removing the controversial post, she would cryptically reveal she did it because she has “everything to lose.”
41-year-old Kanellis, along with her husband Mike Bennett, are currently signed with AEW, having joined last year after their time with Impact Wrestling came to an end. It’s understood a WWE return was an option for them at the time, but AEW worked better for their family. Before that, they had been working for ROH but were released when the company announced it was going on hiatus, prior to Tony Khan purchasing the promotion.
