Major Randy Orton Injury Update

Earlier this year, Randy Orton was penciled in to face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, and WWE did initiate the program. However, due to an ongoing back injury, they had to write him off television via a Bloodline beatdown. And now, after initially attempting to rehab the injury, Fightful Select has reported he has undergone lower back fusion surgery. Therefore any fans hoping to see him make a surprise return in the Royal Rumble match will need to accept disappointment. As according to Spine-Heath.com, “people with a single-level fusion are able to return to all activities—even vigorous ones such as weightlifting or construction work—about 6 months after surgery.

Randy Orton required a fusion in his lower back that would keep him out of action for an extended period of time. The surgery has already happened, though we don’t know when. His wife had posted a picture of him around the operation, however. There were some in WWE that told us they’d be fortunate to have him back after such a long career and the significance of the injury. We’ve also heart from some in the company that says that when he was initially injured, Orton insisted he would eventually return. However, there are no creative plans in order for Randy Orton and no timetable for his return.

As stated in the report, it isn’t known when the surgery occurred. However, on November 14, which just happened to be Orton’s wedding anniversary, his wife Kim shared a photo of him seemingly post-surgery. Nevertheless, due to her use of emojis, many fans in the comments suspected the 42-year-old father of two had a vasectomy. And while that could be the case, there is every chance it was related to his back operation.
