Listen To Foo Fighters Tackle Death Metal On New Song
The Foo Fighters new horror comedy, "Studio 666," is set for a Feb. 25 release.

The Foo Fighters will release their “Evil Dead” style horror comedy, “Studio 666,” on Feb. 25. “The premise of the movie is that we move into this house, I have writer’s block, I’m totally uninspired, I can’t come up with anything,” Foo Fighters guitarist/singer Dave Grohl said. “And I wind up finding this creepy basement. And I go into the basement, I find this tape by a band from 25 years ago that recorded there. And there’s this song that, if recorded and completed, the fucking demon in the house is unleashed, and then, whatever, all hell breaks loose.”

The band that recorded in the house prior is a death metal group called Dream Widow. The Foo Fighters have brought the band to life with a brutal new song called “March Of The Insane.” “(The song) is from Dream Widow’s lost record. This is the record they were making before their singer murdered [them],” Grohl revealed of the film’s plot. “March Of The Insane” will likely draw comparisons to Venom and Motörhead.

The movie also includes a star-studded cast featuring Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega and Jeff Darlin. “After decades of ridiculous music videos and numerous music documentaries under our collective belts, it was finally time to take it to the next level … A full-length feature horror comedy film,” said Grohl. “Like most things Foo, ‘Studio 666’ began with a far-fetched idea that blossomed into something bigger than we ever imagined possible.”

The movie was filmed at the same house where the Foo Fighters recorded their latest album, “Medicine at Midnight.” “We wanted to recapture the classic magic that all of our favorite rock and roll movies had, but with a twist: hilarious gore that f*cking ROCKS,” Grohl said. “And now, with the help of Tom Ortenberg and the team at Open Road Films, we can finally let this cat out of the bag after keeping it our best-kept secret for two years. Be ready to laugh, scream, and headbang in your popcorn. ‘Studio 666’ will f*ck you up.”
