It’s been a bad week for the pro wrestling business with Ole Anderson and Virgil passing away, and now it has been reported by wrestling historian Pat Laprade that Paul Vachon, who was known for being part of the famous Vachon wrestling family, has died. The 86-year-old, nicknamed “Butcher,” is survived by his fourth wife and multiple children; however, he outlived his adopted daughter Luna, who tragically died in 2010 aged just 48.
Vachon wrestled for over 30 years and, over the years, worked for the American Wrestling Association, World Wrestling Federation, National Wrestling Alliance, Stampede Wrestling, and Georgia Championship Wrestling, often teaming with his brother “Mad Dog” Vachon, with whom held multiple tag championships. Additionally, he wrestled under a mask as “Spoiler #2” in the 70s, and his contributions to the industry were acknowledged in 2010 when he was inducted into the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame
