Kurt Angle Shares Sad News Regarding His Neck

Kurt Angle broke his neck five times throughout both his amateur and professional wrestling careers. Famously once during the Olympics, and a further four times in a WWE ring. He also injured his knees doing a moonsault off the top of a cage in TNA and sadly has previously said the quality of his life sucks. Now speaking on his brand new podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, he has revealed the depressing news that he requires another surgery, and this one will keep him bedbound for up to six months.

So I made the choice to have the minimal surgery and continue to wrestle. I’m not going to lie to you. I’m suffering now for it. My neck, I feel it every day. I ended up having two more surgeries after that on my neck. They were repair surgeries just to fix it up. Those are all temporary surgeries. Someday I’m going to have to have a big surgery. I’m trying to hold off as long as I can. When I do, I will be out of commission for a year, and I would have to have the big halo on my neck for three months or four months. Definitely not during the pandemic, I wasn’t going to do anything, especially with my kids being at home, and I have to take care of them and watch them and oversee everything. For me to be laid up in a bed for four months or six months is not going to work.Kurt Angle

Angle retired from the ring in 2019 at Wrestlemania 35, putting Baron Corbin over in the process. Since then, the Olympic gold medalist has had stem cell therapy at BioXcellarator in Colombia, so hopefully, that treatment has somewhat helped him cope. It’s sad to think of anyone in constant discomfort, so with luck, when he can get further surgery, it significantly improves his quality of life.
