Konnan Reveals The Shocking Reason He Won’t Book Tessa Blanchard For AAA

Following allegations of racism and bullying, Tessa Blanchard’s name is forever tarnished in professional wrestling. Still, she recently made a comeback via XPW and CMLL after taking time away from the ring to focus on school, where she studied International Affairs at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Yet, while some promotions are willing to work with her, it appears she won’t be appearing anytime soon for AAA. The reason for this, according to Konnan on his podcast, isn’t just due to alleged attitude issues but also because it would put her ex-husband, Daga, in an awkward position.

“Why would I bring her in, bro? She was very disrespectful. She was like, ‘Oh, the only reason I’m in f*cking Mexico is because of Daga.’ Really, okay,’ ‘Why do you guys do this? Why do you guys do that?’ I go, ‘Because, newsflash, this is Lucha Libre, not U.S. wrestling’, and bro, it would be very uncomfortable after the way they got separated that she’d be in the same dressing room with him, and then I don’t want to put him in that position. They were married. She hooked up with some other guy, and he found out, like, one of the boys.”

Ten months ago, Miguel Ángel Olivo Castro, known best to wrestling fans as Daga from AAA and Impact Wrestling, tweeted out the definition of cheating on one’s partner. Later, he would delete this tweet, but many on social media assumed it was about his wife, Tessa Blanchard, especially as the pair had unfollowed each other. Subsequently, the couple, who married in August 2020, confirmed they had separated via a joint Instagram post. However, it was clearly mentioned that unfaithfulness wasn’t the reason. Additionally, it was noted they were parting as friends.
