KISS returned to the live stage on Friday night at the KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas event. The group played an outdoor, unplugged performance at Virgin Hotels.

Just prior to starting, KISS frontman Paul Stanley asked fans in the audience to lift electric candles that were provided beforehand to honor the band’s original guitarist, Ace Frehley, who sadly passed away last month at age 74.

“Before we get going, we just wanted to take a moment to think about somebody who is at the foundation of this band,” Paul said. “And we’re talking about Ace. So, we certainly had differences, but that’s what family is about. And why don’t we take a moment, a little quiet, to think about him looking down on us — from Jendell, probably — and let’s have a moment for Ace. Candles up.”

KISS played many of the songs they did at their famous MTV Unplugged performance in 1995 including “Comin’ Home,” “See You Tonite,” “A World Without Heroes,” “Hard Luck Woman,” “Nothin’ To Lose,” “Goin’ Blind,” “Plaster Caster,” and “Beth.” The band also played “Hide Your Heart” for the first time since 2019.
