This week’s episode of Raw took place in Birmingham, England, which internationally is best known for being the birthplace of legendary rock icon Ozzy Osbourne. Therefore, with him being a WWE Hall of Famer, there was always the possibility he would get mentioned on air, however, few thought it would happen how it did.
This is because Becky Lynch would bring up his death during an in-ring promo, saying, “The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago.” And while far from being the worst comment said by a wrestler on live TV, it has seen fans take to social media to express their outrage, and now, adding to this, Osbourne’s daughter has taken to Instagram to put the “disrespectful dirtbag.”
Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, just weeks after his Back to the Beginning farewell concert at Villa Park in Birmingham. Officially, his death was ruled to be due to acute myocardial infarction, which is better known as a heart attack, although it was noted that coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease also played a part. Subsequently, a private funeral would take place to lay Osbourne to rest, which saw names including James Hetfield, Rob Zombie, Elton John, Marilyn Manson, and his Black Sabbath bandmates attend.
