AEW World Champion Jon Moxley has come back on the wrestling scene in a big way in recent months. Moxley won the AEW world title for a record fourth time while simultaneously ending Bryan Danielson’s full-time career with a brutal victory at Wrestledream.

Moxley and the Blackpool Combat Club have also been featured prominently in recent weeks on AEW television as the group continues their forceful takeover of the company.

Ahead of AEW Dynamite in Cleveland, Ohio, Moxley was interviewed by Web Is Jericho writer and Youngstown Studio’s B.J. Lisko where he talked about his recent actions on television, the state of the company and much more. Moxley also shared his thoughts on prominent wrestlers and wrestling personalities who don’t evolve with changes in the business.

“Pro wrestling, the great thing about it, is it’s always changing, always growing and always evolving,” Moxley said. “If you don’t keep up with it, and you’re not constantly learning, then you get left behind. Some of the smartest people in the business at one time, who thought they knew everything, stopped learning. And 10 years later, 20 years later, they’re so far behind, they’ll never catch up.”

Moxley continued: “We can never be like that. I will never be like that. We want to be on the cutting edge and experimental. I’d rather be the first person to try something and it’s messed up, and we all learn from that. I’d rather be the first person to show the world that, ‘Hey, you can’t walk on water or you’ll drown.’ Somebody had to try it first. Somebody had to dip their toe in and go, ‘Oh no, it’s not solid, it’s not like dirt, you can’t walk on that.’ Somebody’s gotta try it first. I have no problem with us trying things like that.”
