Vince Russo recently joined ICP’s Juggalo Championship Wrestling, which has generated the indie promotion its most buzz in years. However, veteran wrestling personality Jim Cornette, who has never made it a secret that he despises his former WWE and TNA colleague, is far from impressed with Russo’s latest career move. Cornette would share this during the latest episode of his podcast, labeling Russo as desperate for relevance, pointing out his age and his role in a niche “promotion run by literal clowns.“
The longstanding feud between Cornette and Russo began in the 90s, stemming from their clashing philosophies, with Cornette’s traditional, wrestling-focused “Old School” approach versus Russo’s entertainment-heavy “Crash TV” style, with swerves and its shock value. Backstage and online arguments quickly escalated, with Cornette blaming Russo for harming the industry. As a result, there have been legal threats and even a restraining order filed.
