During last night’s NWA Powerrr YouTube episode, Jim Cornette would make the below comment about Trevor Murdoch.
“He is the only man I’ve ever known that could strap a bucket of fried chicken on his back and ride a motor scooter across Ethiopia.”

Once the comment was picked up on Twitter it began to gain momentum and the video was set to private on YouTube. NWA Vice President David Lagana would go on to post the below on his Twitter account.
The NWA has already had to issue a statement on their website regarding Jim Cornette’s comments on social media about suicide. Also, his latest podcast contained comments where he likened AEW announcer Justin Roberts’ appearance to a child-molester. You would think the countdown to Cornette being fired has already started.
NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis would later go on Twitter to condemn the comment himself, obviously disappointed how Cornette’s comment has tarnished the companies reputation.
Cornette has used this line dating back to the 1980s, but times have changed and language like this can’t be tolerated by a promotion trying to get a television deal. Although it is hard to have any sympathy for the NWA considering the show was pre-taped and they knew what they were getting when they hired Cornette.
