Janel Grant, a former WWE employee who is currently suing Vince McMahon and WWE for sexual abuse, trafficking, and coercion, has publicly addressed the lawsuit during a speech made at a Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence event. During this, she would discuss being “globally outed” by the Wall Street Journal and claimed that the NDA that McMahon allegedly coerced her into signing became a tool for exploitation.
“By a series of miracles that I can’t account for, I’m alive today. On June 15th of 2022, my life was rewritten into someone else’s storyline, and I was globally outed in the Wall Street Journal. I got a call that I didn’t expect on the day of a very big meeting for a new job I had, and it was in front of my new bosses, and it was in front of a high-rise full of residents whose homes I was entrusted to protect. So imagine me getting a phone call. I didn’t expect to say that at any minute. The Wall Street Journal would be publishing a story about me, Vince McMahon, and a nondisclosure agreement. I was told that if anybody asks me about this, I can’t make a comment. I can’t acknowledge it … This NDA was a tool that Vince could use to justify anything while I remained in a system of exploitation.” – Janel Grant
Grant, believed to be 43 years old, filed her lawsuit alleging McMahon exploited her vulnerability, promised job opportunities for sexual favors, and trafficked her to others. Grant is therefore seeking to void the 2022 NDA, which she claims was signed under pressure, although it should be noted that McMahon denies the claims. As of February 2026, the case is currently headed to an arbitration hearing in June on motions to compel arbitration between both sides, with no settlement talks believed to be ongoing.
