Iron Maiden’s “Powerslave” album is the fifth in the band’s catalog and one of their most iconic and successful efforts. The record sports Maiden classics like “Aces High,” “Two Minutes To Midnight,” the title track and “Rime of the Ancient Mariner.”

Iron Maiden’s mascot, Eddie, features in some way on all of the band’s album covers and is used in most of their merchandise and promotions. A rapper, however, is allegedly being sued for copying “Powerslave”-era Eddie artwork for his album cover.

Rapper OsamaSon said he’s being sued by the band for his “FLXTRA” album artwork. Metal Injection’s Greg Kennelly writes: “… dude straight up slapped a filter, a different mouth, and some extra hair on Eddie and claimed it was his. I don’t know what the expected outcome here was. And look; I’m not coming down on this guy for using metal imagery in a non-metal context. That’s the lamest approach to take and it’s stupid. I am saying that maybe you shouldn’t jack other people’s work, in a general sense. Especially this blatantly.”
